Lake of the Woods Equestrian Center
The Equestrian Center is located on Talley Ho Lane, and is open for pony rides, trail rides and lessons by appointment year-round, being weather permitted. The facilities consist of 1 covered schooling ring, 1 show ring, 2 wash stalls, 2 barns with a stall count of 21, 2 feed rooms, 5 dry lock paddocks and 2 tack rooms. All lesson horses & ponies are LOWA owned, and services include Private as well as group lessons, guided trail rides and pony rides.
During the summer, a one-week pony camp is held with half-day activates for young, inexperienced riders that wish to learn the basics. Children who are 6 years old and above will learn how to properly ride, groom and tack horses. It is recommended that you sign up as early as possible, as these sessions have a tendency to fill up fast. The camp will run from late in June to the middle of August.
Young, avid riders can take part in the one-week advanced show camp and will learn all aspects of proper horsemanship; including horse care, course design and English riding theory. The advanced camp is for youths 8 and up, however they must show proficiency in basic horsemanship.
Year-round programs are available as well, such as guided trail rides, pony rides and horse shows. through wilderness battlefield for riders of at least 12 years of age. Guests in excess of 200 Lbs. cannot be accommodate due to size limitations, and the maximum amount of riders is 3 per trail ride. Pony rides are hand-guided, and last for 15 minutes.
